The early battles of WOTR may seem to be fairly easy, but its final missions are not to be taken lightly. Here are some battlefield tactics to use to ensure you arrive at the end intact.

Rally melee troops to heroes you want to protect by selecting the troop's rally flag and then right-clicking on the portrait of the hero you want them to defend. Once produced, the units will seek out that hero wherever he is on the map.

You can also select a group of melee units, order them to attack a building (or enemy unit), hold down Shift, and issue another force-attack command by right-clicking on another building (or unit). This tactic is deadly when used to make a group of ranged units mow down a line of tough enemy melee units.

Construct separate groups of melee and ranged units, using the melee group to shield the ranged group. To add an individual unit to any group, hit Shift+[group number].

Don't forget to use the run/walk toggle during lulls in combat, as units heal faster while walking.
Exploit the AI's weakness against cloaked units by taking out its detector units (Rangers or Wraiths) and the means for them to be constructed, so your cloaked units can wreak havoc unopposed!

Put Rangers or Wraiths in your defensive towers to shield them while they watch for cloaked units. You can also use Rangers or Wraiths to scout out and "spot" targets for your ranged units.
Scout out and identify chokepoints on maps where you're having trouble, and set up defenses to guard them while you revive your forces. You can often use these points to wear down the enemy and force him to expend all of his resources.

Lord of The Rings, War of The Ring Game Tips

The final Evil mission of WOTR is a long and arduous journey, but these tips will allow you to fight through this amazing battle intact and with a good-sized army.
The Sacking of Minas Ithil(the final Evil mission)

This mission starts easily enough, but you can become embroiled in a losing battle of resources if you're not careful. The key is to take your time building up your base, start defensively, and time time your attacks carefully. Make sure the Lord of the Nazgul survives - you can't finish the mission without him, and the game doesn't tell you that!

Place towers at the northern entrance to your base and use your Black Riders and some Slashers to defend it. You'll also need Wraiths: place them in the towers. Build up to tech level 4 as quickly as possible, and use your Fate points to spawn Grishnahk (with all of his upgrades) - he's indispensable in this mission. Also get Saleme (ditto).

Don't attack the first enemy base until after you've secured the expansion resources east of it, across the bridge. Use these resources to build up your army until you have a strong group of Uruk-Hai and Warg Riders, with enough Slashers and Spearmen to serve as cannon fodder. Use your Wraiths (and/or Gollum, if you have enough Fate points) as scouts for Uruk-Hai to engage individual armies from a distance.

Use Grish to take out enemy towers: with his Wolf Speed, you can dash in, place explosives and toss burning torches, dash out, and repeat. You can also use Wolf Speed (and your Warg Riders) to lure enemies away from their defenses and back to ambushes.

Once the first base is sacked, set up a defensive line of towers as close to the enemy gates as possible, using Saleme's Blood Mark to heal your troops. Wear down the enemy by luring them out to face you, using Grish and your Riders to race inside the walls and destroy/weaken towers before launching your assault. Save your Fate points if possible!

After this base is taken, secure the defensive Place of Power to the east, and then use Grish and your Uruk-Hai to take out the eastern forces guarding the final base. Patience is key, as rush tactics will be disastrous.

The defensive force guarding the palantir is formidable. Hopefully, you've remembered the previous tip and saved enough Fate points for a Balrog, which you should spawn in the middle of their formation. Order it to demolish the towers, and bring in the rest of your force to annihilate the troops. Guard the palantir's entrance, place your war posts, and send in the Lord of the Nazgul to claim your prize.

And there you have a very successful strategy to emerge victorious at Minas Ithil, the final Evil mission in Lord of The Rings, War of The Ring.

Many mmorpgs offer fishing as one of the skills a player can take up. The rewards of the trade skill are greater and far more satisfying than taking up fishing as a hobby in real life. As an added bonus, a Runescape character does not have to endure the smell of fish.

Runescape characters can cast a net, or they can use a fishing pole to catch of fish in the lakes, rivers and oceans of the game world.

In most areas of the game, the equipment will be a fishing pole and bait. Nets do not require bet and other items, such as the members only Karambwan pot, require a specific kind of bait. Fishing in Runescape is straight forward, a character using the fishing skill simply has to find a place to cast his net or his line and throw a fish into the waters.

Global Runescape contains many charts that will help out a Runescape character increase his skills. A chart that shows the type of fish, where they can be caught, and how much experience they give out can be found here.

The Profitability of Fishing in Runescape

The primary use for fishing is to produce foods for the cooking trade skill. These can be sold to vendors or players or eaten to gain hitpoints during the course of a Runescape session.

This trade skill is best used to complement other skills in the game or to reduce down time. It can be a pleasant diversion from the hack and slash experience grinding prevalent in most mmorpgs. It is not the most profitable Runescape trade skill, but it is a useful trade skill for a character to take up.

Dark Cut

A note of caution, this one isn't for the feint of heart. There's a LOT of cartoon blood.

In this game, which is sadly far too short, you get to play as a medieval surgeon, dealing with problems ranging from the plague to proper disposal of a vampire.

It's fairly simple (you're guided through everything step-by-step) but entertaining none-the-less, especially when you're reaching for a tray of leaches.

Alter Ego

A note of caution must proceed this "game" as well: Do NOT start this one unless you've got a LOT of free time to spare. It's the polar-opposite of Dark Cut as far as length goes and can be kind of addictive.

The graphic-based Second Life may be all the rage, but this completely text-based game asks the question: "What if you could live your life all over again?"

You play through various life scenarios beginning at birth and ending at death (which can occur at any age, based on your life choices.)

The game is basically a long series of descriptions, followed by choices to make, each one having an effect on the overall game. You can see how the game interprets that choices you'd normally make (or made when you were in those situations) or see what it thinks would happen if you'd done things in a completely different way. This one could easily kill an entire night.

McDonald's Video Game

A glorious newsgame (or as I prefer to call them, interactive editorials,) the McDonald's Video Game puts you in charge of the world's largest fast-food chain.

You need to grow the business by managing at all levels: the farms, the pimply-faced kids working in the restaurants and the boardroom.
The game is fictional, but fun! Annex land for more pastures and bribe politicians for favors, just keep your eye on the bottom line!

Desktop Tower Defense

A strange kind of strategy game. The idea is to make sure no more than 100 monsters make their into your castle by setting up defensive towers, which each have different strengths and weaknesses and cost.

Remember, along with buying more projectile-firing towers, you can also upgrade the ones you already have. Good luck.

Sphere and Crimson Room

Sphere is the sequel to the web-classic Crimson Room, which popularized the "escape from the room" genre of web puzzle games.

These games have you locked in a room and you have to search around for items to solve puzzles, which will eventually allow you to escape.

The annoying thing is, there's rarely any explanation as to just WHY you're trapped in a room.
The trick to these games: Click on EVERYTHING!
